The Canada Student Grant provides financial support to college and university students across the country. These grants help ensure that all Canadians, regardless of where they grew up or how much money they have, can access education.

In return, these students build the future of the country – with the big ideas, innovation, creativity, knowledge and skills from this education. But each year, these grants are on the chopping block.

The current maximum grant is $4,200 but could drop to $3,000 for the upcoming school year.

The Liberals first promised $4,200 to students in 2019, acknowledging the increase needed to address growing costs. However, every year, the federal government insists that the amount is temporary, leaving students wondering when the grant will be cut.

After seven years of record inflation, students need more financial support, not less. Help us grow the grants – the fight for affordable education involves us all.
