The Canada Student Grant provides financial support to college and university students across the country. These grants help ensure that all Canadians, regardless of where they grew up or how much money they have, can access education.
In return, these students build the future of the country – with the big ideas, innovation, creativity, knowledge and skills from this education.
The current grant amounts were promised in 2019 when the current government acknowledged students’ affordability struggles. After seven years of record inflation, students need more financial support.
48% of Canadian students and their families struggle with tuition costs. This number grows to 59% in Ontario, 65% in Manitoba and 66% in Nova Scotia.
Everyone deserves access to high-quality, public post-secondary education and the benefits that come along with it. Let’s grow the Canada Student Grant so that all Canadians can access education.
